Barbara has been training scuba divers since 1984 and scuba instructors since 1995. In addition to being a Course Director (Instructor Trainer) for PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) she is also an Instructor Trainer for DAN (Divers Alert Network) and holds a 50 ton US Coast Guard Masters License.

Barbara regularly teaches classes for divers and instructors in Florida and the Caribbean.

Barbara also teaches students and instructors in several non diving courses involving CPR, First Aid, Basic Life Support and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use with Emergency First Response Corp and Divers Alert Network.

Barbara has taught Instructor classes for Dive Experience in St. Croix, Trimarine (Cuan Law) and Baskin in the Sun in Tortola, British Virgin Islands; Sunn Odyssey in the Bahamas, Dive USA/Ocean Sports and Divers Supply in Florida. She is also currently the Course Director for Pura Vida Divers in Palm Beach, Florida. She started her career as a Diving Instructor with Pan Aqua Diving in Manhattan.

Before making dive training her full time profession Barbara taught mathematics at Fordham University in New York City. She also worked as an administrative assistant for Time Inc. She has a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy from Fordham University and a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University.
